What size to choose for the house bed?
We recommend using our beds from 18 months onwards. However, if you wish, you can place your child in the bed earlier, prioritizing a model close to the floor with barriers.
The choice of bed size varies depending on the child’s age and the desired duration of use. Here is an approximate equivalence between size and age:
- A 70×140 cm bed can be used up to 4-5 years old.
- An 80×160 cm bed may be suitable until 7-8 years old.
- A 90×190 cm bed will be perfect until adolescence, as it is the standard size for a single bed and can also be suitable for a parent who wants to sleep next to their child.
Would you like to buy a house bed for your little one and want it to last as long as possible? Opt for a standard-size bed of 90×190 cm or 90×200 cm, suitable until adulthood.
Info: Our bed frames can support up to 100 kg, regardless of the bed’s dimensions.

The different types of barrier
Our protectors have a height that ranges from 25 cm to 35 cm. This information, which depends on the model, is available in the technical data sheet on the product page you are interested in.
Tip: Be sure to check the total height of the bed barriers you have chosen and avoid selecting a mattress that is too thick. In general, we recommend a mattress with a maximum thickness of 10-15 cm to maintain a good barrier height above the mattress. Discover all our mattresses here:

- Bar railing with cylindrical round bars
One of the two classic barrier models: the cylindrical bars, which you can see here on the B Premium cabin bed, the space between the bars is 5 cm for this model.
- Bar with flat rectangular bars
The rectangular bars, which can be seen here in the L Premium model, are flat and wider than in the round model. For this model, the space between the bars is also 5 cm.
- Horizontal barrier
Finally, in the CB, CBT, DM, and DMT models, you will find a barrier called horizontal.
For these models, the space between the bottom of the barrier and the bed base is 16 cm.
- Without barriers
The C, CT, DK, K, GK, and Paris models are offered without barriers, and when available, they are completely removable.
Which model to choose for the little ones?
The safest model in our range is the B Plus cabin bed, specially designed for young children: with its higher (35 cm) and longer barrier, it will help calm even the most restless nights.
You can also customize the height of the legs: flush with the floor, 10 cm, or 20 cm, according to your preference. The legs are not modular, but you have the option to purchase legs of different heights separately (directly through customer service via email). Therefore, you can choose a flush-to-the-floor model and later raise it.
Overall, the flush-to-the-floor model, in the Montessori spirit, is the most recommended for younger children. This model helps develop the child’s independence by allowing them to freely get in and out of bed at any time.
What height of legs to choose?
On the floor: ideal for younger children and for developing independence.
10 cm: the most popular standard height, the perfect compromise between a floor bed and a bed with a drawer.
20 cm: perfect from 18 months onwards, allowing for the addition of a storage drawer or a bed with a drawer. Here is the link to our different models of beds with drawers, with fast delivery and made to order:
